M-Files is a document management system that organizes content by what a document is about, such as the customer, project or document type, instead of where it sits in a folder tree. The same file can show up in several views without being copied, which helps teams that file the same contract under a client, a deal and a year.
It handles versions, check-in and check-out, workflows for review and approval, and permissions that follow the metadata. AI features suggest metadata from document content and help search across repositories. It can also connect to content left in network drives and SharePoint, so a company can search older stores without moving everything at once.
